Jonathan Toews will now appear on the cover of the video game all by himself.

Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane was set to appear on the cover of EA Sports' popular NHL '16 this September alongside teammate Jonathan Toews, but an ongoing police investigation has caused the video game company to reverse course. Kane has been pulled from the cover, and will no longer be a spokesman for the game, the company announced on Wednesday.

The game's new cover will only feature Toews. Here's what it will look like:

The Kane investigation stems from an incident the night of Aug. 1 at a bar in his hometown of Buffalo. While charges have yet to be filed and the local police department has been quiet on the nature of the investigation, there have been reports that the probe is centered around a rape allegation.

Kane won his third his third Stanley Cup in six years with the Blackhawks this past June. He tallied 27 goals and 37 assists in 61 games with the team.
